
Dr. Yasser OMAR AMINE is an Intellectual Property (IP) Lawyer and Art Market Law Consultant, as well as a Certified IP Trainer by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, Geneva).
Dr. AMINE is the first Arab and Egyptian lawyer specializing in the field of Art Market Law. He has wealth of experience and strong reputation in both contentious and non-contentious Art disputes, and has represented several renowned artists, artists’ estates, collectors, galleries, art experts, art Institutions and other art market professionals in Egypt and the Middle East. He is currently the Legal Advisor to the international project of the first and second catalogue raisonné for two Middle Eastern Artists “Mahmoud Saïd” and “Abdel Hadi El-Gazzar” which were published respectively by Skira (Milano) in 2016 and Norma (Paris) in 2023.
As an IP Lawyer, Dr. AMINE has strong experience in the field of IP as his practice spans the full spectrum of complex copyrights, trademarks, designs, patents, plant varieties and all other IP related matters. He advises on high-profile IP issues and represents both national and international clients before Egyptian Courts in numerous IP litigation cases covering multiple industry sectors.
Furthermore, he is a member of the Regional Editorial Committee for Africa of the Francophone Journal of IP (RFPI, Strasbourg) and a founding member of the Editorial Board of the Semi-Annual Review of the IP in Africa (RSPIA, Paris).
Dr. AMINE holds a PhD in IP Law from Poitiers University (France) and is an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies and Legal Cooperation (CECOJI), Poitiers.
For over a decade, Dr. AMINE has published several articles in the field of IP Law in some of the most prestigious peer-reviewed international law journals both in France and abroad. He has authored six books in Arabic and French on various Copyright and Art law issues. He is Egypt’s correspondent for the International Journal of Copyright (RIDA, Paris), and for the French Journal of IP (IRPI, Paris II University), etc.
